The Regional Government of Cusco informed that the center will serve to articulate the entrance of tourists to the citadel.
The Regional Government of Cusco reported that it will invest an approximate 130 million soles for the construction of a tourist center near Machu Picchu, to articulate the entrance of visitors to the citadel.
Edwin Licona, head of the regional government, announced that the initiative was presented by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) and already has the approval of the Regional Council of Cusco, as well as the interest of the private company to initiate it.
“The interpretation center will articulate the entrance of tourists to Machu Picchu, through a schedule of schedules and also will have a complementary service as a museum, cafeteria and a living room before entering the archaeological monument,” explained Licona to Andina .
In addition, it was detailed that new implements are sought for the best preservation of the citadel and complementary roadworks will also be executed for access to the Inca coking and to the railroad by different routes.
He recalled that work is being carried out on road infrastructure to Mollepata, in the province of Anta and also on the Santa María – Hidroeléctrica road.
